Tips and Tricks for Collectors Cabinets
Tips and Tricks for Organizing Your Craft Cabinets
GENERAL ORGANIZING - who can't use extra drawers?!
  1. Office supplies - Label the fronts of the trays with "vinyl binder labels"
available at office supply stores. Each tray can be for a different bill paying category, staplers, pens, pencils, tax receipts, copy paper, stamps, thumbtacks

2. School supplies, homework, Brownie info, sheet music, artwork, flash cards, unfinished projects (all the pieces stay together)

3. Kitchen supplies like placemats, napkin rings, extra utensils, candles

4. Gift wrapping supplies, bags, ribbon, bows, tape, gift cards

5. "Junk" drawer items like screwdrivers, matches, birthday candles, flashlight

6. Small hand tools like screwdrivers and hammers, nails, frame hangers

7. Jewelry - using those black sectioned jewelry trays make organizing even easier and they fit into the trays perfectly, make-up, hair styling accessories, lotions, finger nail polish, bathroom supplies, medicines, band-aids

8. Kids' crafting supplies like fuse beads, clay, play-doh, paints, markers, puzzles, game pieces, cards, dice, yarn stencils, magnets, unfinished projects (pull one tray out at a time and clean up before another tray can be taken out)

COMPUTER DESK
  1. When using just the large cabinet, you can use the Work Station for your keyboard and put the monitor on top of the cabinet.

2. If you stack 2 larges to create an Armoire, depending on the size of your monitor, you can put it into one side of the upper unit and fill the rest with trays for your supplies.

3. Don't forget the file drawer in the large unit. Works great for your office papers.

HOBBIES AND COLLECTIBLES
  1. Thumbnail minerals fit perfectly into these trays.

2. If your collectibles are a bit taller than the 2 inch clearance, just take a tray out and you've doubled your clearance.

3. Line the bottom of the trays with felt or colored foam pieces to protect things from sliding around.

4. The colored foam pieces can even identify what's in the trays without pulling each one out to see what's in them.

RUBBER STAMPING
  1. Remove white paper from tray. Put stamps in trays by category.

2. Jigsaw puzzle them

3. Turn stamps upside down (rubber up - picture down)

4. Put tray onto copy machine or scanner. If you don't have one, take trays to the library or Kinkos, Insty Prints etc.

5. Make 2 copies (one for the bottom of the tray and one for your inventory folder), the stamp will now have a permanent "home" so you can find it if you just need to make ONE card in an emergency instead of going out to buy one.

6. When sharing with friends or teaching a class, clean-up is quick and easy. You also know that you have everything when you leave.

7. Label the fronts of the trays (I like the vinyl binder labels from Office Max because you can change the tag)

8. If you don't have a copier, just use the white paper in the tray to stamp the image

9. For your embellishments, check out our "SORTABLE" boxes and "FLIP TOP BOX SETS" on our "Accessories" page.

SCRAPBOOKING
  1. Label trays by theme or event

2. Put paper, die cuts, stickers, templates, eyelets, and even the photos for that event

3. When it comes time to scrapbook, everything is sorted and you can start having fun

4. When you get home from a convention or "shopping spree", sort your purchases into the trays right away. This way you don't forget, lose, or re-purchase those items. You can also find them when you need them.

5. Papers can be filed in the hanging folders (optional file drawer that we offer for the large unit), or laid flat in the trays.

6. To sort your embellishments, check out our "SORTABLES" and "FLIP TOP BOX SETS, AND GLASS TOP TINS on our Accessories page.
